biography
Hear ye is a store rye. aloonaluna is a collective of musicians based in tallahassee. aloonaluna formed as a bird-insect seedling in march 2008, starting as the solo musical project of lynn nguyen fister. someone once called her a loon and a hummingbird. luna moths regularly kissed her window and she was touched. early recordings are quite shitty with avian, swing set, and water recordings, detuned ukulele and electric sitar plucking. aloonaluna soon became a tree, as a collaboration between lynn fister and caitlin dunn-harpsicle popsicle-ist and a lovely sparrow throat. yes, one late summer on mashes sands beach. this is where they were regularly attacked by sand spurs and skeeters. mashes sands is a nice place; there's an island they would wade to there...
aloonaluna is currently five members: caitlin dunn- she's a purdy sparrow, slick like sleet. thierry penduff- he is a fuzz bass mister with pedals for feet. robbie goethe does the beat beat beats, and will chase is a new age-y pointillist, but twee popcorn he eats. then of course, lynn fister who everyone knows can't hold a beat beat beat. also have worked with mary jo woods and courtney asztalos.
aloonaluna is an experimental music project fascinated by organic sound, the vernacular and the classic. hey do this at home: drop some colored ink into a vase of water, slow time down, squint your pupils, and see the spiraling detailed stories that gather...?
